What do our students say...
It was an amazing session with so much thought-provoking information. It has certainly given me a deeper understanding of grief. You are both very inspiring and your knowledge exceptional… to have that practical information and guidance was amazing.
Adult Social Care & Health Team, Derbyshire County Council
Thank you for these two sessions, they were so informative, and something I am sure we will all be using in our client work going forwards. Trudie’s delivery was first class, I am a qualified counsellor, but I learnt so much. The content was very thought provoking.
Pathway Counselling Service
The session really was fantastic, I wasn’t too sure what to expect and I’m so happy I decided to join, it was really helpful and thought provoking and fantastically delivered. It’s always so valuable and appreciated learning from someone so knowledgeable and with lived experience.

What does grief cost?
It has a significant financial impact - if you track grief absenteeism, presenteeism, reduced productivity, increased staff turnover, you will know this. If you do not track grief, then as the saying goes, "you don't know what you don't know".
Grieving is a healthy, natural and essential process, that can be accepted and embraced, or resisted and stifled, when it can become complicated and prolonged.
None of us will escape grief, but our healthy adaptation and return to being a productive member of our family, community and workplace depends upon our ability to grow and adapt around our grief.

This compliments, rather than competes with, existing support structures
The ability to empower people on the frontline of your organisation means that the knowledge is not limited to a few core people, it is equally distributed. This means that support, if offered in a timely and personable way, by someone you know will make an incredible difference to the healing process.
Your clients, service users and customers will all benefit, from a grief aware workforce.
Your organisation will most likely have a bereavement policy, maybe a supportive strategy for grief, including in-house counsellors and an EAP service.
EAP structures are a powerful tool, but one that has become increasingly recognised as being used by less than 3% of the workforce.
